【GPLv2 的束縛】 Daniel Carrera [3]觀察到 Linux 的核心授權限制使用第
二版的 GNU [4]一般常規公眾授權。放眼望去為數眾多 的貢獻者，未來要轉移到
第三版的授權似乎是難上加難。Matthew Palmer 則[5]擔心若是新的授權不合廣大
開發人員的胃口，可能會製造出許多很多惱人的版本分歧。

【Debian-Installer 第三候選發佈版】 Joey Hess [6]開始著手進行下一版
[7]debian-installer 的相關[8]工作。大部分測試都相當[9]成功。 他估計應該
能在距上一版釋出三個月後，也就是 3 月 23 日準時釋出。

【創意公眾 (Creative Commons) 授權 2.0】 Evan Prodromou [10]致力於創
意公眾 (CC) 授權 2.0 摘要草稿最後的修訂版本。這份文件整理了 debian-legal

【PC 再興之 Debian】 Richard White [11]報告關於他對於將電腦提供予經
濟弱勢者所作的努力。在試過了一些即用 CD (Live CD) 之後，決定還是使用純粹
的 Debian Sarge。後來他對 [12]Xfce 套件作了昇級，並用 APT 的釘壓
(pinning) 功能來維護 Sarge 的其它套件。(譯注: [13]apt-pinning是一種可以
讓 stable/unstable/testing 套件同時存在而繼續維護安全性以及功能性的方法)

【Debian 使用習慣調查】 Enrico Zini [14]公佈一份[15]調查 Debian 應用
的[16]結果報告。 報告內容包括[17]使用 案例和一份使用者最喜愛功能的[18]清
單。 另一份[19]列表 則是使用 Debian 圓滿達成任務的經驗。

【第參零零零零零次錯誤回報】 幾天前 No鋩 K� 在[20]錯誤追蹤系統中[21]
開啟了第三十萬次的錯誤回報。如此傲人的數字彰顯了使用者和開發人員為改善他
們最愛的系統所作的努力。有興趣改善 Debian 品質的開發人員不妨看看這份[22]

【計畫主持人選舉期間】 Manoj Srivastava 正式[23]宣佈本年度的 Debian
計畫主持人[24]選舉開始。選票信件必須在格林威治時間 2005 年 4 月 10 號的
晚上 11 點 59 分 59 秒之前被郵件伺服器收到。該投票必須使用該投票人在
Debian 金鑰伺服器 (keyring) 中的 GPG 金鑰(或 PGP ) 簽章。他也額外[25]補
充說明，投票信件必須是沒有加密的， devotee 還沒有辦法處理加密的選票，加
密的選票將被自動忽略。

【Autoconf 使用方法】 Martin Krafft [26]想要知道為什麼要在建構套件時
呼叫 autoconf 程式，儘管一般來說這應該只被維護者使用，而不是在建構套件時
使用。在建構套件時呼叫它們可能會造成問題，例如[27]減少了原始碼的大小，但
[28]最危險的 是當 autoconf 版本改變時，可能造成套件無法編譯。

【OpenLDAP 升級自動化】 Torsten Landschoff 寫了一份讓 [29]OpenLDAP
2.0 自動升級到 2.1 的建議書，[30]公開徵求意見。 當 Debian 套件更新後，有

闖紅燈真危險...

昨天從Tossug迴廊聚會回家的時候，在中興路跟寶興路口被一台闖紅燈而且高速行駛的Cefiro側撞。

那時候，我身上帶著Vaio 505TL、Acer N30、Palm Zire 71、

感謝IBM小背包，我的VAIO安然無恙。當然小背包掛了...

目前估計損壞如下:

這雙手套是夏日用手套，應付台灣濕熱的天氣真是輕鬆自在。戴上手套之後，離合器拉桿可以輕易觸碰。而且對於手背的支撐性良好，害我沒有穿手套快要不能拉離合器了，算是小小的副作用。

為了這個主題，我歷盡千辛萬苦才好不容易達成任務（作簡報），你可能會想"作簡報有甚麼難的？"，真的很難...

• 提交libchewing的bug report並協助Kanru把bug解掉，然後編譯Kanru辛苦改完的結果，才開始能夠使用scim-chewing。
• 尋找debian的OO.o簡報範例，找不到，結果自己作。
• 為了DWN tw維護方便又寫了四隻script，然後commit出去。
• 終於可以開始寫簡報

除了以上所列出來的事情以外，我還接老婆、哄小孩、幫忙整理家務。

總之，今天實在很忙。所以如果簡報寫的很爛請見諒。

OpenOffice.org Impress template for Debian

I am going to present DWN Chinese translation in a small user group party next week. So as usual I open openoffice.org, and wondering "why don't I use a debian template?".

So I googling for a while, but I don't find anything worth to try for 30 minutes. Well, NONE? Debian user didn't use OO.o?

【Debian 標誌版權】 Francesco Poli [8]想知道 最近有沒有將 Debian [9]
標示更換為自由版權的任何進展。 Martin Michlmayr 的[10]回答指出 SPI
(Software in Public Interest) 的集團律師已擬好一份智慧財產轉讓同意書，
而標誌的原作者也答應簽署並將其所有權讓渡給 SPI。一旦完成以後，授權就能更
換了。

【自動處理 USB 裝置】 Martin Dickopp 正在著手 [11]撰寫一隻命令稿
（script）程式，讓 USB 設備插入時能自動掛載，並於裝置拔除後自動卸載。他

【文件的授權?】 Daniel Carrera [15]問道 若想為文件選用 [16]Creative
Commons Attribution 和 [17]GNU GPL 的共同授權 (co-license) 時該如何處
理。但 Gervase Markham [18]認為 千萬不要使用 GPL 這種並非專為文件設計的
授權，應該選用那些 DFSG 認可的自由 文件授權。

【隨身碟金鑰管理】 David H酺deman [19]詢問 是否有在 USB 隨身儲存裝置
上管理 (SSH 和 GnuPG) 私鑰的好方法。金鑰應該要一插上 隨身碟就可以用。最
後他改良了一隻 Sean Finney 的[20]程式， 在 VFAT 上使用回送檔案系統
（loopback filesystem）。

【選舉討論規範】因應為數眾多的計畫主持候選人，Jeroen van Wolffelaar

【Sarge 釋出狀態】 Steve Langasek 送出了新的 Sarge [23]狀態紀錄。為了
緩衝 testing-security 佇列帶來的效能衝擊，在 wanna-build 以及其他 buildd
機器上修改了 SSH 伺服器。這次修正之後，為了因應 [24]debian-installer 第
三候選發佈版的 釋出，將會凍結（freeze）與套件庫之間的連結。

【佇列處理的新提案】 Joey Hess [25]提議 把處理新套件佇列的擔子從 ftp
管理人（ftpmaster）的身上分一些給其它人。套件可以上傳到另一個新的公開佇
列，由更多的開發人員檢閱，而重新簽署過的（re-signed）.change 會再送交給
主要佇列。當支持該套件的開發者足夠了以後，就可以讓套件庫維護人員用更自動
化的方法來處理它。

【後 Sarge 時代的發行計畫】 Steve Langasek 為 sarge 之後的發行工作宣
佈了一項 [27]計畫 ，其中包括要把一些比較少用的硬體架構（architecture）從
Debian 套件庫裡切分出來，在一般區之外另立次級的元件（component）。在
Debian 套件庫裡少放一些硬體架構， 應該可以減少映射站台伺服器所使用的磁碟
空間以及維護 testing 所需時間。

HOWTO configure 3Com 3CRWE62092A in ubuntu warty(might work in other 2.6.x machine)

The original one might fit 2.6.x kernel would be version poldhu-0.3.1.
Don't use it unless you are using kernel 2.6.0

poldhu-0.3.2jserv.tar.bz2, this modified version is wrote by Jim Huang . I force him to modify it for me with threat. XD

Download above file and put it into /usr/src
I will introduce howto configure it after then.

# sudo cp poldhu-0.3.2jserv.tar.bz2 /usr/src/

First, install pcmcia-source and linux-source.

# sudo apt-get install pcmcia-source linux-source

You need to install the linux-source version exactly the same with your current using kernel version. To check your kernel version, execute this:

# uname -a

After then, uncompress your linux-source and pcmcia-source:

# cd /usr/src
# tar zxvf pcmcia-cs.tar.gz
# tar jxvf linux-source-2.6.10.tar.bz2
# tar jxvf poldhu-0.3.2jserv.tar.bz2

Then we go inside poldhu and get everything ready.

# sudo make

Because the automatic install script doesn't work, we did it by manual:

# sudo cp clients/poldhu_cs.ko /lib/modules/{your kernel version}/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/
# sudo depmod -a
# sudo cp config/poldhu.conf /etc/pcmcia
# sudo /etc/init.d/pcmcia restart

OK, now insert your card and do proper network settings. I will work fine.

BUGS:
This driver is still in early BETA, most of function won't work. Do ask me how to fix it!
* No signal strenth informations
* Active probe won't work
* Airlock won't work
* After power saving, card will halt and die. You need to restart computer.

怪我自己太不小心, 使用簡體中文的朋友們已經翻譯完成, 但是因為Carlos仍然還在 proofread, 所以目前仍未進入official CVS.

Debian Installer手冊目前沒有中文翻譯

剛剛打開了gmail好好的把這星期沒有時間看完的mail全部翻了一下. 結果很驚訝的發現了以下討論串:

之後, 卻發現沒有 zh 的目錄.

這真是太令我震撼了. 來吧, 號召大家來翻譯吧.
